The Delhi High Court issued a notice to AIIMS and the Center on Monday about not repairing the \"pulse dye laser machine\" for skin treatment, which has been out of service for more than a year.
The court asked AIIMS why it was not possible to repair the machine at a cost of Rs 50 in time.
\"You should maintain a machine if you buy it.
\"If there is no funding for the All-India Medical Institute and I don\'t think that is the case, then the government should pay for the repairs,\" said judge Sanjeev mehdeva . \".
The court heard the student\'s pleadings 23-year-
Old engineering student Mohammed kayamuddin, who was unable to perform a complete treatment of a rare skin condition called \"wine staining\" due to the fact that AIIMS\'s machine was not working.
His lawyer, Ashok Agarwal, said the laser machine used to treat the situation was only available at AIIMS and other government hospitals.
Mohammed needs to be treated 10 times with this machine, but only once in May 2015.
The machine has been broken since then.
The wine stain is almost always a birthmark, and in some cases it is formed in early childhood.
It is caused by an abnormal blood vessel, named after its similar color to wine.
Failure to treat in time can lead to visual impairment, hip coma, paralysis, and other diseases.
